This puppy is officially out in the world. Gosh that’s a good feeling.
What you may not know, unless you’re in the publishing industry, is that publishing a book is a multi-year process. I started formally writing the first chapters well over two years ago — but I’d begun researching the women themselves over a year before that! So you can imagine that by the time the physical product sees the light of day, it’s a huge relief for the author. Something to celebrate, indeed.
Here, I shall shamelessly plug a request for you to:
A) Purchase said book if you haven’t already. (B&N, Amazon, Bookshop, publisher)
B) Leave a review on the webpage where you did the buyin’.
I couldn’t resist heading to the nearest Barnes & Noble days after it released to sign the in-store copies. Here’s proof:
Speaking of my favorite childhood bookstore, they invited me to be a guest writer for the B&N blog, where I got to share about the literary prowess of the female mystics.
OK yeah B&N is great, but guys do we love an indie bookstore or do we love an indie bookstore?!?!
If you live in the vicinity, I hope you come out to Beaverdale Books in Des Moines this Wednesday night! My bestie, Dr. Lindsay Simpson, is going to moderate a conversation and there’s just nothing I love more than feminism in a bookstore. It’s sure to be a rolicking good time. Come on out!
Thanks to all who came out to the event at Dog-Eared Books here in my hometown. It was so special to me to feel your love and support.
With gratitude,
Shannon
P.S. - Paid subscribers, you’ve got a BTS coming at the end of the week!
I’m so excited for you! ☀️
This book is so very good, Shannon. Thank you for filling my soul!
