Exactly a year ago, I was frantically refreshing my email browser every five minutes as I waited on offers from the various publishing houses that were considering buying the rights to the book I had tentatively titled, A Wilder Journey. Fast forward just 12 months later and Brazos Press is about to release that babe of my heart into the big, wide world. That’s really fast for publishing standards; but I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that for me, it’s felt like forever.
So I am thrilled to finally be able to extend the invitation for you to join my launch team for Rewilding Motherhood (RIP original title; this one is better). As we inch closer to the September 14 release date, the launch team will be my inner circle—a sort of secret sauce for the marketing campaign. You will receive a free early digital copy of the book, be included in an exclusive Facebook group with discussion and lots of live interaction with me and my marketing whiz, Erin, and be eligible for exclusive giveaways.
Wondering what exact responsibilities you’d be committing to? The launch team members will leave reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, and other bookseller sites of your choice (which is really important to the algorithm of books viewed and bought) and spread the word through social media posting, your local book clubs, or any other creative way you can think to let people in your circles know about the book.
When I released Embracing Weakness a few years ago, the launch team was hands-down my favorite part of the experience. I swear I have the most thoughtful, open, and curious readership on the webs, and I just enjoy you all so stinkin much. It would be my absolute joy to share the book release experience with you this time around. (And I sincerely anticipate some amazing conversations with you about motherhood and womanhood in our Facebook group.)
A few questions I have been asked:
Do I have to have a big social media platform to be on the launch team? NOPE!
Do I have to be a mother to be on the launch team? NOPE!
Do I have to be a woman to be on the launch team? NOPE! (Although a vested interest in women’s issues and commitment to listening to women are required.)
Do I have to be a U.S. resident to be on the launch team? NOPE! (Just do your best with the address portion of the application form.)
Can I be on the launch team if I don’t have a Facebook account? YES! (It won’t be as full of an experience from your end, but you can certainly still do it!)
Will you join me? I hope you say yes!
