‘No moral, no proverb, no “point.”’ Oh yeah, we can read and write for fun. It’s easy to forget!

Pleasure is enough, especially when we don't get enough of it. Got to work on that sentence, or maybe not...As you commented once in a workshop, we should write about our passions. Passion and pleasure seem to have similar meanings, so write what is interesting to you. Thanks for the book recommendations - and the comment about reading a poem each day. Good idea! I have been drawn to the poetry of Edwina Gateley. Perhaps her work can guide me during the upcoming Lenten season. Go snuggle with one of your pets - and other loved ones!

Oh I love Edwina Gateley's poetry! Her work really kept me afloat during a rough patch five years ago.

Pleasure is enough! Thank you for that! It is fatiguing to constantly be reading things that have a “point”, or can be too preachy or even have that feel of wanting to sell something. I think you are a very interesting writer and I love reading your stuff! 💕

I frequently feel this way and wonder if other folks do too. Thanks for the confirmation that sometimes we just want our minds to freely wander for a bit.

That picture of your chicken is just the best! It looks so incredibly cozy. ❤️ And cheers to becoming more interesting as you age! Definitely in the spirit of the 40 things I want to do before I turn 40 in November this year. Never too old to try something new!

The picture of your dog and your chicken brought me such joy this morning! As did your musings on writing. Thank you for sharing!

Is your chicken always in the house? Do she and the dog get along? Does she like to be snuggled? I’m so curious.

Aww I’m glad it brought you joy! That was the hope. We have 3 chickens (down from 6, originally) and they live in a coop outside, but bringing them in the house - especially for snuggles - is a guilty pleasure of mine. This one is named Ghost (my daughter named her). 😊

Oh and yes they get along well with the dog! They tend to boss him around. 😆
