I feel like this is the balm I need. I am a home economics teacher in a rural area with a slowly increasing minority population and I am hearing kids increasingly emboldened to say discriminatory things about race, gender and sexuality. I donβt know how to help.
I can relate, beautiful Shannon! I am always searching for my grandsonβs dog, Pluto (1 1/3 year old beagle mix) when I visit my daughter in western NY. Pluto likes to roam the farm where they live/play/wonder/ponder. Pluto makes life fun for all! At times it is hard for me to remember how long he has been out of the house and if itβs time to make sure he is safe. I am always relieved when Pluto comes racing back to the porch!
I just became a mom to three with the birth of our daughter and ooo boy. I am rarely on my phone right now because I feel like I have to focus so much to keep track of everyone and everything. But, probably not a bad thing in general.
I've preordered your book. Really looking forward to reading it!! Congrats on the contract. :)
I would LOVE to win the book! I lead an anti-racism book group at our church and this sounds like a perfect next read π

I know that feeling of relief well! And it sounds like the two dogs are really similar. Ours is a 2 year old beagle/lab mix!

Thank you so much for preordering! It means a lot to me. And congratulations on the new baby!
Congrats, Shannon! I'm not doing nothing, but want to do more, so the book sounds worthwhile. I don't know if you read Plough, but thought you'd be interested in this article: https://www.plough.com/en/topics/life/parenting/writing-at-burger-king
Thank you, I hadn't seen this yet! I really love the way she pulls the end together.
That was exactly the question on my mind after the dog story. Thanks for not leaving us hanging!
Also- really looking forward to the female Christian mystics book!! Iβll hold myself over with the feminist prayers.
Biggest stroke of luck of my life!
Congratulations on your new book contracts! Yay!
I have also lost a dog in a car overnight, so I feel your pain.
Doing Nothing is No Longer an Option looks really great too.
OK you don't know how comforted I am to know we aren't the first to do this!
